My Past To Aspiration
9/3/15
High school for me is like sitting on a river and going with the flow. I say this because when I first started high school I felt that it was pointless, but my family would push me. My parents would always try to push me and tell me how important school is. However, being a fourteen year old I cared less about my education. I made some bad turns in high school, such as missing school, therefore my first two years were not the best. Later I realized what these four years of education would mean to my life.
Looking back to 2012, freshman year I was very irresponsible. I didn’t understand the meaning of commitment. For example freshman year I was not a good student, I wouldn't do my homework or attend class. During the weekends I spent my time assisting my dad as I was making my own money. I felt that this was right. This mind set lead onto my sophomore year. The beginning of junior year I realized I wasn't doing much for my education. After realizing that I was disappointing my parents by not putting a lot of effort in my education, and that made me realize how behind I am. For instance, just the thought of knowing that I might not walk during the graduation ceremony makes me realize that I need to try my best and make my family proud of me.
I come from a small town where everybody knows each other and most of the students play sports such as football, soccer and track. Consequently every student needs to be on pace on most of their classes in order to participate. I am one of the ones that is struggling but will not give up because I am playing varsity football here for my school and have four brothers playing as well. As you can see my young siblings look up to me, therefore I will be a good role model and show them school and education is very important. Hopefully they will acknowledge my advice and don’t have to put up what I had to in my past years.
Furthermore, through great effort and dedication, I no longer believe I will never make it to my destiny. Instead I learned to become more independent, trust myself, and follow my instincts. I’ve challenged myself to do better after seeing all the mistakes I have made in my past years, now I will overcome them. My family is one of my biggest motivators because they all want me to do well in life after I graduate high school. All my four years I’ve been pondering about attending Universal Technical Institute after high school, after all the experience I’ve had with cars, I really do enjoy working and learning something new about them. Universal Technical Institute is my first priority after high school my aspiration is to get a really good job in the future. I don’t want to be struggling in life and have to depend on others. I would rather depend on myself, in other words strive.
